What is temporomandibular dysfunction?
It's when some of the structures of the jaw works poorly or injured.
How temporomandibular dysfunction occurs?
It is caused by bad habits with the mouth as clenching or grinding the teeth or by biting unusually either crooked teeth or asymmetric jaws which are capable of initiating temporomandibular dysfunction is known as micro-trauma. It can generate more direct injuries to the face or jaw, which produce uncoordinating mandibular function.
The main symptoms are wastage of the teeth and / or molars at an accelerating rate in chewing noises, clicks, opening and closing the mouth and sometimes inexplicable pains in the ears, head, neck, back or shoulders and sometimes even vertigo.
What can I do to correct this problem?
